- Kawaguchiko Area
Among the Fuji Five Lakes, Lake Kawaguchi is a very popular tourist destination. The contrast between the lake and Mt. Fuji is beautiful, and there are many hotels and inns located in the area. There are also many sightseeing spots in the area, and it is easily accessible from Tokyo. - Lake Yamanakako Area
Lake Yamanakako is the closest lake to Mt. Compared to Kawaguchiko, there are fewer sightseeing spots in the area, and it is recommended for those who want to enjoy a relaxing and tranquil atmosphere.
Lake Kawaguchi is located on the north side of Mt. Fuji, while Lake Yamanaka is on the northeast side. Yamanakako is closer to Mt.Fuji.

Tips and Notes:
- Some hotels only allow you to see Mt. Fuji from some rooms. When making a reservation, check to see if the room has a view of Mt. Fuji.
- It is important to check in advance whether you can see Mt. Fuji view rooms fill up quickly, especially during the popular season, so you need to book early.
- Fuji may not be visible on some days due to weather conditions, so I recommend staying multiple days to increase your chances of viewing Mt. Fuji.
Best places to stay near Mount Fuji
You can see Mt. Fuji from Lake Kawaguchi or Lake Yamanaka, but I would recommend Lake Kawaguchi. Fuji can be seen beautifully from both lakes, but there are more hotels and inns, and there are more sightseeing spots in Kawaguchiko.
Mt. Fuji depends greatly on the weather. Considering that you may not be able to see Mt. Fuji on the first day due to bad weather, it is advisable to stay at least one to two nights in the area. In that case, you will be able to enjoy a greater variety of activities if there are many sightseeing spots to enjoy in the vicinity. Therefore, this article introduces hotels in Kawaguchiko.

Shuhokaku Kogetsu is the ryokan where I actually stayed. The reason is that it is located on the north side of Lake Kawaguchi, and all the guest rooms of the ryokan have a view of Mt. Fuji, and it is the ryokan where you can see Mt. Fuji most beautifully from directly in front of you without any obstructions. Located on the northern shore of Lake Kawaguchi, this prestigious and luxurious onsen ryokan offers a relaxing experience in a calm space with a Japanese flavor. As the name of the inn suggests, you can experience the tranquility and beauty that the word “Kogetsu” suggests. I thoroughly researched and compared this ryokan with others before deciding on this ryokan, and I believe this ryokan is the best for viewing Mt.

All guest rooms are designed with a view of Mt. Fuji from all guest rooms. Unobstructed views of Lake Kawaguchi and Mt. Fuji reflected upside down on the surface of Lake Kawaguchi is truly spectacular. Fuji in the morning, and the view of the lake in the moonlight at night is truly beautiful. Some rooms have private open-air baths, so you can feel as if you have the whole Mt. Fuji. - Private private hot spring

- Fuji is one of the most beautiful ryokan with one of the best views of Mt. Fuji, which makes it a very famous and popular ryokan and difficult to get reservations. It is recommended to make reservations around 6 months in advance, especially during peak season.
- You cannot make reservations in advance for the use of the private outdoor hot spring baths, which require a reservation. Reservations must be made when you check in at the front desk upon arrival at the ryokan.
Enjoy the atmosphere of a traditional Japanese ryokan, and enjoy hot springs and Japanese cuisine while admiring Mt. Fuji, making this a perfect choice for a special anniversary or family trip. However, it is a popular ryokan, so reservations are really difficult to get. The hotel consists of three buildings: the Observation Wing, the Plaza Wing, and the Central Wing. You can see Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi from every room. The “Observation Wing” is particularly attractive, with all rooms having a terrace and a private open-air hot spring, providing a very luxurious room where you can relax in a warm hot spring bath while enjoying the view of Mt. Fuji in particular is an opportunity to more deeply appreciate its natural beauty. Fuji in the morning sun or at sunset is too beautiful for words, so if you are coming to Japan from abroad, I strongly recommend you to stay one night.
How many days should I spend in Mount Fuji ryokan?

For example, in the area around Kawaguchiko, you can take a walk around the lake or take a boat ride to get a closer look at Mt.
